Ta - dah, Ta - dah, Ta - Daaaaaaaaaah

Well this has been an absolute pleasure, my biggest project by far, probably started it in March time and then other little projects have got in the way, oh and yes the summer, was a bit warm crocheting this whilst sitting outside!!

Lots of balls of wool, lots of ends sewn in and now I can just snuggle, just in time for the Winter when I will be snuggling on the sofa with the telly and tea for company.....bliss.

Ok, photos I hear you say, I was just imagining in my head snuggling on Christmas Eve under this lovely stripey watching something good on TV with a nice cold glass of fizz, but hey...come back now that is another story...

Right then Giant Grannie Stripe started here......

And now it will live here....

But, it looks equally at home here....and I don't really want to hide it away upstairs just yet, so whilst I am working on my sofa Grannie Square, I think I will leave it here....

I love the final picot edge...

 Stripey, stripey, stripey......

I used the colours picked out by Lucy at Attic 24 in her original colour pack and I bought 2 of the packs, but I do have yarn left and I did use some for other items...so altogether a very good value blanket, which has bought me hours of pleasure and will continue to do so.

Now my basket has the next project all lined up to complete...

  1. Hi Nikki, your blanket is AWESOME!! I totally love it, that's it, I'm asking for the pack for Christmas (husband will have a FIT) and I am definitely making a granny stripe blanket next. Lots of colour to cheer me up on a dreary winter day :)
Looking forward to seeing more of the next project

  2. Hi Niki, hey well done on your blanket, beautiful colours and a very good size, worth all those rows. Love the picot edge too, a perfect finish to your neat stitching.
It does look amazing on the bed but lovely to snuggle on the sofa where others can also admire it.
I am with on fizz for Xmas eve-that is exactly what I will be doing-very civilised me thinks.
Your cake is very cute, bet that was appreciated by a little one.
Have a lovely weekend and well done again on your blanket.

  7. That is LOVELY! What neat hooking - such a great result! I love the contrasting colours - I'm doing it similarly with mine, it's amazing to see the different effects that you can get with the same colours - some people like rainbow stripes, Lucy's original granny stripe has a bit less contrast in the colour order. We both seem to be fans of random contrast though - it looks so good! Congratulations on such a fab project!

    1. Thank you, I absolutely love it...I love comparing different peoples work using exactly the same colours...really strange how we all see colour differently. I couldn't get more random if I tried as I usually get my children and husband to each pick a ball and that will be the next three rows!!! xx
